Nurse Training Pathways

Our Nursing courses give you the support and real-world experience needed to become the kind, caring and compassionate professional that so many will rely on.

Choosing a career in nursing is a commitment to a life of purpose, offering both professional stability and the unique opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of others every day.

Whether you feel called to adult, children’s, mental health, or learning disability nursing, a degree in this field opens a vast range of doors within hospitals, community clinics, and even international healthcare settings.

As a registered nurse, your skills will be in high demand across the globe, providing you with a flexible and rewarding career path.

To help you focus on your studies, eligible students can access at least £5,000 in non-repayable financial support each year, making the transition into this vital profession more achievable than ever.

At the University of Winchester, we pride ourselves on preparing you for the realities of modern healthcare through a balance of theory and practice. We understand that nursing isn’t just about academic study; it’s about the people you care for, which is why our programmes prioritise hands-on experience in diverse clinical placements.

Nursing Degrees

Our Nursing programmes combine theoretical knowledge with hands-on clinical experience in a supportive community environment.

You'll benefit from early clinical placements, state-of-the-art simulation facilities, and unique opportunities to explore your special interests.

With a strong focus on both technical skills and personal values, we'll prepare you to make a real difference in people's lives from day one.

If you will be over the age of 21 at the beginning of your undergraduate study, you are considered a mature student. At Winchester this means our offer may be different, taking into account any work or life experiences you have, alongside any qualifications you hold.

Unsure about your grades?

A Foundation Year could be the missing link between you and your new career

Our Foundation Year programmes are aimed at individuals who may have few or no relevant formal qualifications but who can demonstrate a clear commitment to pursuing a career in nursing.
