Early Years Education

This programme offers you the opportunity to gain the Early Childhood Graduate Practitioner Competencies Qualification in addition to your academic award.     

If you want to make a positive difference to the lives of young children, their families and the societies in which they grow up, this degree is for you.  Early childhood education and the wider issues related to the experiences, development and care of children plays a critical role in the cognitive, social and emotional development of individuals in ways which impact their formative years and later lives.  This degree takes a holistic approach to the study of early childhood focusing on education, care and development from conception to 8 years and you can gain the Early Childhood Graduate Practitioner Competencies Qualification at Level 6 in addition to your degree if you wish.  

Primary Education with QTS

At our Ofsted 'Outstanding' Institute of Education here at Winchester, we know how important it is that teachers are autonomous, innovative, critical and reflective practitioners. Our intent is to develop outstanding teachers with the knowledge, skills and confidence to respond to the reality of the classroom and enable all children to grow and learn. 

Education

Our exciting MA Education programme is designed for either undergraduate students seeking to progress the study of education at postgraduate level or professionals already working in the field as teachers, leaders or other professionals in a whole range of different educational contexts. The MA Education course is designed for flexible study, combining digital learning resources to study at your own pace, with support through small-group seminars and one-to-one academic tutor guidance.

Medical Education

The philosophy of the programme is grounded in a view of professional development through research-based activity. In each module, you are supported to engage with the theories which guide your educational practice in the situations you encounter in your role, and to test and develop these theories through research and reflection. The teaching and learning approach of the course is founded on the principle that learning is an active, experiential and collaborative process.

PGCE 5-11 with SEND

PGCE Primary 3-7

PGCE Primary 5-11

PGCE Primary is a postgraduate professional programme of Initial Teacher Education (ITE) leading to the academic awards of either a Postgraduate Certificate in Education or a Professional Graduate Certificate in Education. Both awards include the recommendation of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Your QTS Status allows you teach any age range, however this programme prepares you to teach particular age ranges.

PGCE Primary Physical Education

The course provides the opportunity to learn to teach in a stimulating and supportive environment from tutors with extensive expertise and experience. You leave the programme as a high-quality postgraduate teacher equipped with the skills, knowledge, and motivation to empower and educate others. 

PGCE Primary School Led

The PGCE Primary School Led programme is a postgraduate professional programme of Initial Teacher Education (ITE) leading to the academic award of a Postgraduate Certificate in Education and the recommendation of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
