Biography

Lesley Strachan is a Senior Lecturer in Marketing, Programme Leader, and award-winning educator with over 25 years’ experience spanning higher education, industry, and professional practice. She specialises in digital and strategic marketing, employability, and experiential learning, helping students and professionals connect theory with real-world impact.
She works across undergraduate, postgraduate, and apprenticeship programmes and supervises student research projects and dissertations. She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy a member of both the CMI and CIM, and has research interests focused on marketing education, employability, and work-based learning.
 
Alongside her academic career, Lesley has held senior marketing and leadership roles in industry and continues to work in consultancy and professional development. She is widely recognised for her use of innovative teaching approaches, including business simulations, live projects, and coaching-based learning, and has published and presented internationally on these themes.
 
Approachable, student-centred, and passionate about education for the common good, Lesley is committed to helping people develop clarity, confidence, and capability to succeed in their studies, careers, and lives.
