Biography

Christine's first two university degrees were obtained in engineering (BS and MS). She then decided to study law and earned a JD from Harvard Law School (Massachusetts) followed by an LLM from the University of Cambridge. She also completed the Certificate in Intellectual Property Law at Queen Mary College, University of London and was awarded a Postgraduate Diploma in EC Competition Law from The Centre of European Law, King’s College, University of London.

Christine is qualified to practice law in the United States and the United Kingdom. She is also admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Prior to joining the University, Christine practised law principally as a commercial attorney in both the US and the UK. She has experience as an in-house attorney for multinational corporations as well as prior experience as an associate at a Boston, Massachusetts law firm. Before relocating to the UK she was employed as Associate General Counsel for Technology Transfer at the University of Minnesota.

She joined the Law Department in February 2011 and designed the Intellectual Property Law module. She also lectures in European Union Law and the law of Trusts.
